Smart home is Amazon's home-turf category and the deepest Cyber Monday discounts land here: video doorbells, smart locks, cameras, thermostats, dimmers and mesh Wi-Fi. Check your door, wiring and Wi-Fi coverage first, then buy during the event.
Amazon owns Ring, eero and Alexa, so smart-home devices are the category it discounts hardest from October through Cyber Monday. The rest of the market (Google Nest, Lutron, eufy, August, TP-Link Kasa) follows to compete.

Prime Big Deal Days (October)
Amazon runs a two-day Prime-member sale in October. It is announced a few weeks ahead and leans on home, tools and smart-home categories, so it is the first real chance to buy a big item before the holiday rush. Deals are member-only and often limited in quantity.
Black Friday (November 27, 2026)
The Friday after Thanksgiving. Amazon starts posting early Black Friday deals in the weeks before, so the best time to check a specific model is any day in late November, not only the Friday itself.
Cyber Monday (November 30, 2026)
The Monday after Black Friday. Electronics, smart home and small appliances tend to be strongest here, and many Black Friday prices simply carry through the weekend.
December and the returns window
Holiday purchases usually get an extended return window, which matters for anything you have to assemble or mount. Buy early enough that the item can arrive, be measured against the space, and be installed before the window closes.

A sale price only counts if the item fits. Before the event, write down:
- Doorbells: wired or not, and the transformer rating printed on the chime box.
- Locks: deadbolt brand, door thickness and backset.
- Thermostats: whether a C-wire is present at the current thermostat.
- Dimmers: neutral wire present or not, and how many switches control the light.
Timing that works
- Put the models you want on a list now and check them during each event. The sale price is only good if it is the model that fits your space.
- Measure first. Most returns on big items are fit problems, and a returned item is a lost week in the busiest month of the year.

Cameras that store locally (eufy with a HomeBase) and locks and dimmers do not. Ring and Nest video history needs a plan; the device still works for live view without one.
